Ngāti Kahungunu riders have set off on horseback for Parliament to deliver a petition opposing the removal or amendment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles or references in legislation.
Eleven riders, with supporters in convoy, departed from River Road on the outskirts of Havelock North and are due to reach Parliament on Tuesday, September 15.
More riders are expected to join along the way. The petition is due to be presented to Ikaroa-Rāwhiti MP Cushla Tangaere-Manuel on Parliament’s steps at noon.
